POLICE have today issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward after a serious collision in Longhope.

The incident happened at the junction of the A4136 and Hinders Lane at around 5.35pm on Tuesday October 28 where a blue Vauxhall Corsa car was in collision with a red MAN lorry.

The driver of the car, a 53-year-old local woman sustained serious head, neck and leg injuries and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital before being transferred to Southmead hospital in Bristol.

The driver of the lorry, a 65-year-old man from Longhope was taken to GRH with injuries described as not life-threatening or life-changing.

The road was closed for around six hours as officers carried out investigations.
