EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Cameron Greaves proved a great ‘roll model’ when he pedalled 20 miles to raise £850 for the Royal British Legion.
Cameron cycled around forest trails on Saturday, April 29, after hearing his parents discussing how they could raise money for the Longhope and district branch of the RBL.
He decided he wanted to help, chose the route starting at the Forest Cycle Centre in Cannop and started training in March, when he was still seven.
The money will be used to provide social events and individual support for beneficiaries within the local community who are isolated through bereavement or loss of mobility or health.
Huntley Primary School pupil Cameron, who lives with his family in Little London, Longhope, said afterwards: “Some of the hills were tricky when I was tired, but it was good and it was worth it.”
If anyone wants to support his fundraising effort, a sponsor form is available in Longhope village stores.
