A CAR was badly damaged in a two-vehicle rush hour crash on the A48 in Lydney this morning, which caused long tailbacks.
The accident happened right next to the Willows guest house shortly before 8.10am when a Suzuki car and a Toyota reportedly collided..
A Gloucestershire Police spokeswoman said: "Both of the drivers were assessed at the scene by the ambulance service and are not believed to have sustained any injuries."
The front bonnet of the Suzuki car, which was still at the roadside with a police notice on it four hours after the crash, was completely stoved in, as shown in the Review’s photo.
A woman who lives beside the crash scene posted later on the Forest of Dean Roads Watch Facebook page: "Road is open and clear of cars, emergency services are on my car park, everyone ok, no serious injuries."
She added: "Some people treat roads like a race track and forget the effect it has on people if anything goes wrong."
Another woman posted: "I can never understand how there are accidents there, on a straight road."
And a third said: "Another accident again! Council needs to put more speed cameras and traps up. Simple!"
