STAFF at SPP Pumps Coleford had a day to remember last Thursday as one of their colleagues did a 'hair-raising' stunt for charity.

Carol Westwood, 54, of Coleford, decided to have her long hair cut by family friend and hairdresser, Fay Cotterell, and donate it to the Little Princesses Trust who makes wigs for children with cancer.

She said: "I lost my sister to lung cancer aged just 54, which was secondary to kidney cancer in August 2010. Both my father-in-law and cousin's husband died in 2012 from cancer. My father-in-law had lung cancer while my cousin's husband had a brain tumour.

"Cancer Research UK receives no government funding for its life-saving research. Every step it makes towards beating cancer relies on every pound donated."
