AS the Forest Review and its regular readers can easily verify, if indeed verification is needed, since at least late 2007 I have been a consistent opponent and critic of the introduction of   car-park charges in the Forest.

So, I was slightly miffed that Douglas Scott, Mitcheldean insinuates that some sort of bandwagon is being jumped upon.

If Mr Scott would take the time to walk the streets of Lydney he would also see plenty of anti-car-parking stickers displayed in shop windows that were given in support of local business by UKIP colleagues when our "effect on local business"survey was taking place last year.

Well done mischievous Mitcheldean, but please Mr Scott, sniping at those who want the same goal is not clever when it is abundantly clear who the enemy is.

Cllr Alan Preest, Lydney.
