THE pupils of Coleford St John's Academy had a specially-written play all about their home area for this year's Christmas production, The Forest Angel.

It followed on from the theme the children have been studying all this term, "Betwixt Two Rivers".

"It is all based in the Forest and it was written by a member of staff," said a school spokesman.

"We even had a wild boar that had just been dragged away from digging up the verges along Gloucester Road!"

Every pupil had a part to play and friends, staff and parents enjoyed a total of four performances drawing a packed audience each time.
