BULWARK Community Centre held its first Christmas fair.

There was a wide of stalls and other attractions for visitors to enjoy. Deputy mayor Councillor Yvonne Havard dressed as the chief fairy for the afternoon and among the other town and county councillors helping out was Hilary Beach who dressed as an elf. Ralph Perrett dressed as Santa and met children in the "magic garden" which had been specially made for the occasion. Lynne Atkins, who runs the centre, said: "It was a lot of hard work to bring it all together but there was a very good team and it's been a very good afternoon." A slideshow ran throughout the afternoon showing the wide range of groups that use the centre which was built by Chepstow Town Council in 1994. Mrs Atkins said: "The centre is used by a lot of groups catering for all ages and a wide range of interests." As well as groups there are regular film nights with the latest blockbusters being shown by Monmouthshire Mobile Movies.
