I WOULD like to congratulate the team from the Cinderford LearnDirect centre  for all of the hard work and effort put into making Cinderford's Christmas light switch on such a success, and in such a short amount of time.

Considering the bad national press that surrounded the  towns lights, an abundance  of people  attended the event which was supported by a festive market.

It was lovely to see so many local tradespeople selling local goods, and others raising money for various charities.

Well done to the people who care  about our town,  shame about some of the local shop traders who thought the  event was an inconvenience.   Quick enough in taking extra profits from the customers they wouldn't have had otherwise though!
