WINDOW cleaner Paul Smith of Cinderford has cleaned up at the regional final of the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

His business, Reflections Window Cleaning Services, scooped the major regional award for customer service and received a £750 prize at the prestige presentation in Bristol.

Paul, 30, set up his business after realising there was a real gap in the market when he wanted his own windows cleaned. He now tackles difficult tasks like conservatory cleaning as well as servicing a range of domestic, civic and industrial customers, and is hoping to branch into even more specialised cleaning services.

Judge Michael Salmon of said: "It is clear that Paul is totally committed to delivering the best possible service to his customers.

"This, coupled with excellent quality control, good management and his determination to succeed will see his business go far."

Paul says his ultimate aim is to become the biggest cleaning company in the region.

The organisers are calling for entries for the next competition, open to 16-30 year-olds. For details call 0845 757 3252.
