THE children of Clearwell have been travelling back in time to find out what the village was like in the past.

And now they will be presenting their findings in a special event spread over July 7, 8 and 9 as part of the Coleford Festival of Words.

Their centrepiece will be a 'living museum' set up in the Memorial Hall, and the village primary school is hoping local people can lend mementos, photographs, war medals or other artifacts for the occasion.

Victorian Refreshments will be available at the event which starts next Thursday, July 7, with the 10.30am official opening of the school in 1859 by its Benefactress Caroline, Dowager Countess of Dunraven.
