CINDERFORD Rugby Club's charity fund-raising kicked off to a great start in generating an impressive £4,924 for Help for Heroes.

The club's charity event coordinator Carol Ridler said: "We asked for donations in lieu of ticket entry costs at our three pre-season friendlies, plus we had a great charity game versus the Chepstow Rifles at the beginning of the month followed by a charity evening party and auction.

"I'd like to thank everyone for supporting all our efforts and their generosity, and for some wonderful personal donations from friends within our community."
