I WOULD like to reply to Cllr Venk Shenoi's letter to your paper on June 26. This is the second time he has had a letter in the Review on the green waste collection being unnecessary because of the cost, and of course followed up with the carbon footprint. I cannot be alone in saying I find this service important since I have no car, other than lighting bonfires, to dispose of weeds that I cannot put into the compost bin. Since I live in a built-up area I cannot think that bonfires would be welcome anymore unless he has some other sort of suggestion for disposing of them! – M. Scott, Lydney.
