A TRAINING unit of the Royal Forest of Dean College is offering help to individuals and businesses faced with unemployment during the financial crisis.
The Business Training Centre, based at Vantage Point Business Village in Mitcheldean, plans to help redundant people from organisations such as Lydney Containers and Sonoco to re-enter employment and to build confidence.
"This is done by tailoring training to meet the needs of the individual," says training adviser Colin Howarth.
Graham Grindle, project worker for Unionlearn Southwest said: "I am grateful that both Lydney Containers and Sonoco involved the union in their decision making process.
"This enabled the union to work with the college in providing employees with a range of training options. This partnership has enabled people to make informed decisions, and has provided a large number of individuals with the skills and confidence to apply for work."
Anyone concerned about redundancies can contact Colin Howarth on 01594 545370 for an informal discussion about training options available.
