Both Gloucestershire College and the Royal Forest of Dean College board of governors have unanimously approved a merger.

Greg Smith, Gloucestershire College Principal said, "The merger will offer significant benefits to the citizens of the Forest, protecting further education provision delivered in the Forest."

The final step in the merger process is to gain approval from the Minister of State for further education. It is expected he will respond by December 3.
