THE cost of travelling across the Severn Bridges will increase from January 1.

The toll for car and motor caravans increases from £6 to £6.20 while there is a 30p increase for vans and minibuses – up to £12.40 from £12.10. Drivers of lorries and buses will pay £18.60, up from £18.10.

The amount of the increase is set down in the Severn Bridges Act 1992 is based on the inflation rate in September.
