EVERY word by Cy Roberts in last week's Review was spot on.

The raving and ranting by John Belcher about UKIP and the EU indicates to me, at least, that he is not aware of the facts about EU spending or prefers to ignore them.

May I mention a few?

The EU's own auditors have failed to give a clean bill of health to more than £100 billion of spending by Brussels.

Last year alone £5.5 billion of the EU budget was misspent and Brussels' accounts have not been cleared for 19 years.

Around £100 million is spent every year shuttling some 800 MEPs, their assistants and translators the 300 miles from Brussels to Strasbourg where the offices are empty for 317 days a year.

In the last few days allegations have emerged that the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, presided over potentially illegal tax breaks to avoid billions of pounds of tax when he was Luxembourg's Prime Minister.

It is not UKIP that is extreme right-wing – it is the Mafia-style EU bosses and their cohorts who adopt that position.

Just like Jose Manuel Borroso, John Belcher is blustering like the tail-end of Hurricane Gonzalo.
