TALENTED Cinderford dancer Makayla Thomas has sailed through the World Dance Organisation (WDO) competition.
The 12-year-old Dene Magna pupil finished first in her street dance solo and third in her contemporary at the competition held in Bristol.
Two years ago she won a scholarship to Pineapple Studios in London to do street dance with top choreographers; while there she won the freestyle competition and was given a solo spot performing on the West End Theatre.
Her mum, Stacey said: “Makayla dedicated all her time out of school to learning all styles of dance, including contemporary and ballet at VA Dance School in Cheltenham. Makayla has also been offered a place at Wilkes Performing Arts Academy in Swindon, whom Ant and Dec and Robbie Williams are patrons.
“It’s a fantastic result and achievement for a young girl who is driven and dedicated. Both her dad and I are very proud and just love to see her happy.”
Makayla will be performing at Cinderford Music festival in The Triangle this Saturday (September 3).
