BRIGHT costumes, music and dance made the Fabulous Fez Heads Fig and Date Festival in Tintern at day to remember.
The free community event was held as a taster for the popular Two Rivers Folk Festival which will take place in July.
The Widders Borders Morris Dancers hosted a Morris dancing competition which the Black Pig Border Morris side from Nottingham won. Eight groups took part in the competition.
Women in colourful belly dancing costumes entertained the local people and the Fez Heads brought their own unusual mixture of games and music to the mix.
Organiser Mike Lewis said: "It was really good fun and everyone who came enjoyed it. It was well supported by local people. We are now looking forward to the July Folk Festival."
The line-up for the summer festival includes famous folk singer and BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards singer of the year and best album winner Seth Lakeman.
