A LYDNEY man has been arrested on suspicion of deer poaching in woodland at Clanna, near Alvington.

Police arrested the 44-year-old on Tuesday (March 29) following a report received on March 24 of a man slitting a deer's throat and dragging it to his vehicle.

The man has been bailed to attend Gloucester Police Station on May 31, pending further enquiries.
