THE Fantastic Fudushin Four were first team home in this year's Forest of Dean Charity Jail Break but the Desperate Dilke Dollies scored the highest hold-up, raising a fantastic £439.
This year's efforts meant cheques for £1,292.90 each went to Cancer Research and the Friends of Dilke Hospital – £400 more than last year – after the seven teams got safely home after being 'sprung' as far away as Swindon.
"It was a fantastic effort and everyone had great fun," said organiser Mandy Robins.
"Nuns with the Runs seemed to do particularly well in Swindon where they managed to beg meals off everyone, including MacDonalds. The only problem was a member of one team who had to be picked up for medical problems, otherwise everyone made it back inside the time limits.
"This year we held the event with a fun day which has helped to raise our profile – we are already getting inquiries about next year's event although we haven't yet fixed a date. We do know that one of the two charities will be Winston's Wish, However.
"We'd really like to thank everyone who took part, and everyone who helped – especially local shops and businesses who generously donated prizes for the raffle."
The St Trinians team took top fancy dress prize and the whole event was followed by a very successful disco.
