LYDNEY firefighter Chris Martin is shocked and dismayed anyone could be so callous as to take spanners and other tools from his dead grandson's tool shed.
"I cannot imagine how anyone could stoop so low," said Chris, who says police are looking into the theft from his daughter's garden shed in Harrison Way, Lydney.
"We have still been so shocked that we cannot even touch the tools. But now all his spanners and other kit have been taken from the shed where he used to do his work.
"Obviously they are of great sentimental value to his family and we would like to have them back if somebody can do the right thing and get them returned to us.
"What is very sad is that whoever took them must have known they were there and whose kit it was – I just don't know how anyone could do that."
He said the family was still trying to come to terms with the tragic death of Jamie Crossman, 19, before the theft and this did not help at all.
