On Tuesday, October 22 the district nurse parked in the lane in front of my gates. She was with me about 20 minutes during which time a large dog had deposited a pile of "poo" right by her car.
Unfortunately she did not notice it when she returned to her car and stepped into the car. She was alerted by the smell.
She came rushing back to me very distressed and annoyed and used my outside tap to wash off her shoes and her car mat. Consequently her trousers became very wet as well.
All this took a considerable time and she had other patients to visit, this distressed and annoyed her all over again.
How I know it was a large dog was that when I put water in the watering can (with difficulty as I am over 80 and use a walking stick) and went to clean the mess away, it was such a large amount I had to get a spade, shovel it up and dispose of it at the bottom of my garden then wash the residue away. I was shattered.
All that distress, anger and time wasted could have been avoided if one thoughtless owner had cleaned up the dog mess.
Please think of this the next time your dog fouls on a path where people walk and certainly when it happens by a parked car, clean it up immediately.
