I would like to use your column to thank the people of the Forest who gave money so generously, allowing us to purchase the nursing support vehicle for the chemo­therapy charity Hope for Tomorrow.

Combining proceeds of street collections, donations and money raised at this year's Forest Half Marathon the brand new car was received on behalf of the charity last week by ex racing driver Derek Bell.

The car will help the charity provide a more efficient service to people in the Dean who can now receive their chemotherapy locally. – Ian Storrar, secretary, Royal Forest of Dean Rotary Club.
