TRAVELLING through the Forest recently, I saw a new type of pedestrian crossing: not a zebra or a pelican crossing as we know them, but a humbug boar crossing! On a more serious side, remember that at this time of the year there are numerous young animals about, so please drive a bit more carefully and expect the unexpected. I recently had the misfortune of calling out the RSPCA to put down a young deer that had been knocked down by a car. To the best of my knowledge the driver didn't stop or call for assistance.
