AN 83-year-old man has died after driving the wrong way on the M4 near the Second Severn Crossing.

The man's car Toyota Corolla was heading towards the toll booth at about 11pm when it turned around and travelled back to Junction 22 of the motorway.

There was a collision between the Corolla and a Citroen C2 and then a Jaguar.

The 83-year-old died from his injuries while the other drivers were not seriously injured.

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to called the force's collision investigation unit on 101.
