WITH reference to the engine photograph on page eight of Review dated 24.05.13. It is Peckett 2013 built 16/05/1941. It is an 0-4-0 Saddle tank with outside cylinders, 7inch x 12 inch stroke and two foot wheel diameter.
It was new to Llanishen Royal Ordnance factory in Cardiff and then sold via dealers to Fred Watkins of Whitecliff Quarry and Brickworks Ltd, Whitecliff after August 1957. It was kept at the end of the ex GWR Monmouth-Coleford branch line near Whitecliff farm where it was damaged by runaway wagons from the quarry and scrapped in December 1963.
Fred Watkins at Sling dealt in second hand locomotives in both standard and narrow gauge.
