A TEENAGE footballer from Chepstow is trying to decide choose between England and Wales for his professional career.

Tom Pass is 18 and lives in Chepstow, but his mother is English, so he could play for either side of the border.

He was presented with his first international cap this month after an impressive performance as keeper against France for the England Under-18s at Wembley.

Tom's international debut was a success despite the final score line being 2-4 to France.

Tom was applauded off the field after being substituted after 80 minutes – spectators described some breathtaking stops and said England's defeat would have been much worse if he had not been on top form.

Proud dad Nigel arranged a double-decker coach to Wembley taking Tom's mum Tracey, brother, Stuart and sister, Ellie, as well as other family members, Garden City JFC committee members, current and former team mates and his former manager and supporters.

Nigel said: "I thought Tom put in a tremendous display on Saturday against quality and very skilful French opposition.

"He acquitted himself very well and he has done his future prospects no harm at all."

Tom went to The Dell School and Chepstow Comprehensive and is now finishing his studies at Hartpury College.

He played junior football with Chepstow's Garden City JFC from the age of five and now plays for Forest Green Rovers.
