HERE we go again, the majority of us are not happy with the destruction of the Forest by the out-of-control feral boar and we are now going to be the victims of the latest environmental experiment by those who say they know better, ie the Forestry Commission and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust whose remit is to preserve and to improve the environment in which we live.

They are now intent on giving us pine martens and beavers.

The boar, as we know, have turned all Forest waste into a war zone, the areas around Yorkley, Oldcroft and Viney Hill have been particularly badly hit.

Old people can’t even get through their front gates, people are having to spend thousands of pounds in a vain attempt to even walk on the pavements, sports clubs are finding they can’t afford to carry on owing to the cost of fencing etc.

The pine marten is a pretty, fluffy-looking killer – it will take over the nesting sites of owls and take birds nests, eggs and their young.

Boar destroy any wildlife on the ground – ground nesting birds, lizards, snakes, etc.

So what the boar don’t get on the ground the pine marten will get in the trees.

We just hope that the beavers will live in harmony with the water fowl.
