HAVING recently completed the nomination process for Chepstow Town Council, I was bemused to see that Labour and Liberal Democrats won't be standing in two of the five wards. It is clear that there appears to have been an agreement between the Socialists and Liberals to try and squeeze out the Welsh Conservatives in Chepstow.
There are no Labour candidates standing in the Larkfield and St Kingsmark wards and no Liberal Democrat candidates in St Christopher's and Thornwell.
How does this give the people of Chepstow a fair choice of candidates when these parties appear to want to play political games rather than compete fairly in the forthcoming election?
Welsh Conservatives have put forward two candidates per ward in Chepstow.
– Benjamin Smith, Welsh Conservative Candidate, St Kingsmark Ward.
