A FAIR with the focus on local products and Fairtrade raised around £100 for charity.

The event was organised by the Chepstow Fairtrade Forum and was held at the Tidenham War Memorial in Tutshill on Saturday.

Local crafts included handmade bags and accessories, hand-knitted scarves and hand-made cards as well as a variety of Fairtrade gifts.

The well-attended event raised about £100 for Operation Smile which provides corrective surgery for children with a cleft palate.

Organiser Julia Parsons said: "Thank you to every one for your practical support and to everyone who came along to meet over refreshments and buy goods.

"This was a way we could practically help others while also enjoying ourselves."
