CAKES, colours and a close shave were on the menu at a Forest tearoom on Saturday.

Lizzie Gyfford, her husband Colin and their 20-year-old daughter Abigail Gyfford-Scott took on the ‘Brave the Shave’ challenge for MacMillan at the Bethel Tearoom in Littledean

Lizzie, who owns the family-run tearoom, said: “As my husband is already blessed with a lack of hair he also dyed his beard and eyebrows which he will maintain for a month.

“Our customers chose flamingo pink and fluorescent green for him to don.”

So far the family have raised more than £700 for the cancer charity, which helped Colin’s mother Maggie who had a ‘wonderful’ Macmillan nurse, before she died.

Lizzie added: “We also did the fundraiser in memory of family friend Annie, who didn’t have a MacMillan nurse but had hoped to have one.

“We hope the funds will help make a difference in the Forest for those suffering with cancer.”

The tearoom is open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
