I TOTALLy agree with your correspondant (last week's Review) regarding the assertive actions of Welsh Water at Tallards Marsh.

Three generations of my family, spanning 58 years, have kept boats and engaged in boating, unchallenged and unhindered at Tallards Marsh. I would be very disappointed if Welsh Water were able to ban all boating and even walking at Tallards Marsh.

I believe such prolonged, unbroken usage of Tallards Marsh by both boatmen and walkers has established an ancient right of use. I would urge all people who have walked unchallenged or kept boats unchallenged, at Tallards Marsh, and wish to save their rights for future generations, to contact Tidenham Parish Council.

I see the impending confrontation at Tallards Marsh as a typical "David Versus Goliath" situation, where a small group of boatmen and walkers face the mighty Welsh Water, and I sincerely hope the outcome will be the same as the biblical confrontation!
