I FEEL that I must return from my short retirement, just this once, to answer Tom Atkinson’s attack on me in last week’s Review.
It may be my poor grammar that caused his confusion and for that I apologise, we know what a nit picker Mr Atkinson can be.
Let me try again, as there is nothing wrong with my memory.
Nearly two years ago, when I first decided to write to the Review concerning the EU referendum, I did so because of the never-ending stream of letters from UKIP supporters in this area. I decided to use a pseudonym, because of the way that other remain supporters had been abused by leave supporters prior to that and to spare my family any embarrassment.
I have never said that I have only used the name True Blue since June 2016, I don’t know why Mr Atkinson thinks that I did.
For the record, as TB, over that two years, I have received a plethora of abuse.
I have been called a prophet of doom, a manic depressive, deluded, mad, muddled and unpatriotic, by leave supporters and dishonest and lacking credibility by Mr Atkinson just last week, when all I am doing is voicing my opinion.
Maybe it’s Mr Atkinson who should apologise to me.
As I stated in my earlier letter, some Brexit supporters act as if we, who voted remain, no longer count and should have no further say.
A few weeks before Christmas, Mr Shenoi told me that I did not love my country and that I should go and live in Belgium.
That was the last straw and I decided that there was no point in further debate.
You may rest assured that this is definitely the last time I will be writing to the Review, no matter how Mr Atkinson perceives this reply, as I have no interest in his opinion of me.
– True Blue, Tutshill.
