WE all know that low-flying and noisy jet aircraft are around for a few days – presumably coinciding with military exercises on the Brecon Beacons – roughly once a month.
If memory serves me right, the Review used to publicise 'Low flying days' based on information from the RAF or Ministry of Defence. Maybe it would help Pete Stewart (and anyone else who finds the noise objectionable) if this information for the month ahead were to be included as a regular "public interest feature" in a regular spot. We can't stop them, but it might be nice to be fore-warned...
I find the very rarely spotted Hercules low-flying "flying trucks" rather sweet – they don't go very fast, don't make very much noise and have an instantly recognisable growl—and their pilots will sometimes wave back if you wave at them!
