ORGANISERS of an appeal to help a Forest family launched last week with the help of the Review say there has been an 'overwhelming' response.
The Tingle family are desperate for an extension to be built at their Coleford home to help make life more bearable.
Sean Tingle is almost confined to a hospital bed in the living room of the his home in The Paddocks which makes family life for him, wife Lisa and their children almost impossible.
The Review ran an appeal on its front page last week hoping that the Forest folk would rally round – and they did.
From individuals pledging cash to businesses offering skills and materials the response was immediate and heart-felt.
There has even be a fun day arranged at the Angel Hotel in Coleford in October to raise money for the appeal.
Jenny Roberts, a family friend and one of the appeal organisers, said: "There has been an overwhelming response and on behalf of Sean and Lisa we'd like to thank everyone who has been in contact.
"We will be in touch with everyone who has contacted the appeal."
To pledge help e-mail the appeal at [email protected]">[email protected]. Donations can also be made at Drybrook Post Office.
The fun day at the Angel is being organised by Emma Tanner who says there has been a good response through Facebook for assistance.
They are still looking for more bands to perform, children's entertainers and an ice cream van, said Emma.
