The Review's former editor John Powell was presented with a painting of Lydney Docks by local artist Jackie Cox to mark his retirement from the paper last week. Powell started work at the paper in the early 1980s. Editor Ted Lamb said: "John is an invaluable friend and a talented and dedicated journalist who has given a tremendous amount to the paper over his long years of service. We are very sad to see him go."
Jackie Cox's exhibition of landscapes of Gloucestershire and Gwent is on display at Taurus Crafts, Lydney.
