A FORMER Gloucestershire Chief Fire Officer is due to appear in court month to face an allegation of fraud.

Stewart Edgar, who left his post in 2018 and now lives in Carnoustie, Angus, in Scotland, has been ordered to appear before Cheltenham magistrates’ on Tuesday, March 10.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said the 52-year-old had been charged by a postal requisition.

They said the charge was a result of consultations with the Crown Prosecution Service following an investigation by Gloucestershire Constabulary into the alleged sale of a Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service Land Rover in April 2018.
