YOUNG dancers showed off their skills for an audience of more than 100 people.

The 140 dancers, who ranged from four-year-olds to 18-year-olds, are students of the AllSteps dance academy in Lydney which is run by professional dancer Lisa Bishop.

The show at Lydney Community Centre was called Small Steps to Big Steps.

Lisa said: "It was a demonstration of class work showing the progression of dance training from juniors through to seniors.

"All 140 dancers were fabulous and I was very proud and there were many positive comments.

"It was with a sad but proud heart that I had to say farewell to students who are moving on."

Daisy Heaman is going to Elmhurst in Birmingham, one of the country's leading dance schools, Elisha Burke has joined the National Youth Ballet and five others have been offered dance scholarships.

Among the dances was a special display by Charles Heaman of Aylburton – Daisy's brother – who is already at Elmhurst.
