CYCLISTS got into the Christmas spirit and dressed up for this year's annual Santa's Cycle at Beechenhurst Lodge.

Although the number of participants was down considerably from last year, the spirits remained high as they took on an 11km family cycle in aid of Marie Curie Care.

Forestry recreation ranger Richard Mostyn said: "The event was not well attended which was a great shame as it was for such a good cause. We managed to raise £40 which is a lot less than the £250 we made last year. However everybody had a lot of fun and we gave the prize for the best decorated bike to Andrew Payling and his partner who received a pretty large box of Christmas chocolates. We will continue to run the event next year and hope for a better turn out."
