RESIDENTS who plan to vote in the Police and Crime Commissioner election have until next Monday (April 18) to ensure they are entitled to do so.
The Forest Council is urging residents, including those who have moved into the area or moved house, to make sure their details are up-to-date before the election takes place on Thursday, May 5.
Claire Hughes, electoral registration officer for the Forest of Dean, said: “The deadline for registering to vote is Monday (April 18), so time is running out.
“The easiest way to register is online at www.gov.uk/register-tovote as it only takes a few minutes. Residents can also request a registration form by calling the district council’s elections team, during office hours on 01594 812692.
“The deadline for postal vote applications, or to amend a postal vote application, is 5pm on Tuesday, April 19. The deadline to apply for a
proxy vote, (having someone vote on your behalf), is 5pm a week later, on Tuesday April 26.”
For more information call the elections team on 01594 812692.
