THE recent annual meeting of the Switched On Coleford music festival unanimously decided that Gill Camp should be invited to hold the role of president for the support and commitment she has shown over the last two years.
"Gill has always been there to support the event, rain or shine, we can rely on her to be 'dancing in the street'," said spokesman Nick Penny.
"It was under Gill's office as mayor that the town centre redevelopment work took place which has proved an ideal venue for the music festival.
"With the next festival planned for June 2002 to coincide with the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations, we feel Gill will be a tremendous asset to our group of volunteers."
Talks have already begun with the BBC to broadcast elements of the festival on Radio Gloucestershire and BBC West as part of the Music Live celebrations taking place on Monday, June 3.
