ON behalf of Great Oaks Hospice and The Pied Piper Appeal, I would like to say a huge 'thank-you' to everyone who took part and supported the Dave Roberts Memorial Charity Golf Day.
Despite the 'foggy start' the day proved as enjoyable as the four previous ones. On return to the '19th hole' everyone appeared to be smiling, having enjoyed the excellent game of golf in the beautiful surroundings with the eventual addition of the sunshine.
Many thanks to Gavin, Dave and the staff at Forest Hills, who once again helped to make this such a special day.
I am delighted to advise, that due to the fantastic support we raised the sum of £2,533.50 which will be divided equally between the two charities.
The winning team with a score of 100 was Rickerbys and the runners-up were Alan March, Ben Clarke, Chris Williams, and Mark Innis. Nearest the pin on the 14th was Ashley Smith and nearest the pin on the 17th was Mike Rawlings.
The winner of the 'Holiday Raffle' was Mrs G. Cooper of Coleford, and the helicopter flight was won by Mrs F. Gurney of Newent.
Many thanks once again for your support and we hope you will join me on the April 9, 2010. – Jenny Roberts.
