SO someone who hasn't the courage to give their name believes that St Briavels is as miserable as they sound in their letter.

Are they really talking about the same village where I came to live 11 years ago?

I was made most welcome from the first day I arrived.  Certainly, visitors who attend the church on Sundays always remark on the welcome they receive.  I can never walk into the village without people passing the time of day or stopping for a chat whether I am known to them or not.

We do not know the concerns of others and nobody shows their brighter side all of the time so please be a little forgiving.  When driving, common courtesy means that we do have to give way sometimes and good drivers do so willingly.

Maybe a change of attitude would allow the writer to see the true image of anywhere, including St Briavels.  There is a lot going on here and it is a great place to live.
