COLEFORD Bowls Club has officially returned to its historic home after four years.
Bells Hotel and the Royal Forest of Dean Bowls Club offered a refuge to the Coleford club when its lease at the Buchanan Fields was not renewed.
With the agreement of the new committee at Buchanan Fields, the Coleford club has returned to its home of more than 90 years.
Club members put in the hard work of renewing the green at Buchanan Fields and it was officially opened by Deputy Mayor of Coleford, Cllr Nick Penny.
Chairman of Coleford Bowls Club, Mr Malcolm Paterson said: “We are grateful to Bells Hotel and the Royal Forest of Dean Bowling for their assistance but we are very happy to be returning to Buchanan Fields.
“The green has been completely renewed and it has been done thanks to a lot of hard work by members.”
Cllr Penny said: “This is great news for the people of Coleford who will welcome it back with open arms.”
The club will be having an open day on Saturday, April 23 from 3pm.
