THE Midcounties Co-Operative is to invest £180,000 in investigating and developing a micro hydro scheme on the River Lyd next to its store in Lydney.

The scheme, which should supply between 10 and 12 per cent of the store's power needs, is being developed by Woolaston based The Resilience Centre.
