ELDERLY Freda Margrett is offering a small reward for the return of a jug commemorating Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, which she says has been stolen from her house.

"It had a picture of her with the date 1887. My mother born on exactly that date and it was kept for her when she grew up. It was much loved by my mother and was passed on to me. As you can imagine it has great sentimental value," said Freda.

"I just don't know how it was taken from the house and who might have done it. It's a real puzzle to me. Sadly someone saw its worth and stole it.

"I'm contacting you to ask for people who go to car boot sales and auctions to look out for it for me."

Freda said she only noticed the distinctive flat-sided jug was missing when she looked for it in her glass cabinet because she was thinking about passing it on to a nephew to treasure in turn.

"I would be so grateful if I could get it back," she said.
