A POLICE car that was en-route to an emergency call in Blakeney was cut short after colliding with a vehicle in Parkend yesterday.

The area surrounding The Folly, between Parkend and the barracks, was closed from 4.30pm as the vehicles were recovered.

It’s understood the police car, which was driving with lights and sirens, collided with a man driving a Landrover.

Both the man and two police officers sustained minor injuries.

Gloucestershire Police say the driver of the police car has been suspended from driving a police vehicle while an investigation is underway.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to call 101 quoting incident 316 of July 21.
