PROMOTIONS in successive seasons have shot Lydney's ladies hockey team into division two of the Brunel League.
The Lydney team made certain on a top two place by demolishing Redcliffe 5-1 at Whitecross on Saturday.
Formed only three seasons ago the local team has made quite an impact. With a squad of around 25 they have only enough players to field one league side but they have a mixed side which plays on Sundays which enables everyone to get a game.
"Ideally we would love another 10 or 12 players. That would enable us to field two league sides," said Julie Jenkins.
Captained last season by Claire Jewitt, and this term by Becky Ryan., the club's top scorer this season has once more been Diana Webb.
