WHILE 2,500 people may have signed a petition calling for the Chepstow Hospital Minor Injuries Unit to be re-opened, if we can't afford it, we can't have it!

I should very much like to own a camper van and be able to travel around Europe in it every summer, but I can't afford it, so I can't have it!

Lesley Griffiths, former Wales Health Minister, said, after having to ask for funding to bail out the Local Health Boards yet again, "We haven't got any more money and they know that, and they really know that they have to hit their financial targets."

With respect, we all have to stop buying things we can't afford, and when we have overspent, cuts have to be made to ensure the continuation of services in the most efficient way.

It is also pertinent to point out that whilst NHS budget in England has been held at last year's rates, the Labour-run Welsh Government has cut the NHS budget in Wales budget by 8.3 per cent.
