AN exhausting two hour charity zumbathon which took place during the recent heatwave, raised £740 for the children's play area in Berry Hill.
Fitness and zumbathon instructor, Rachael Lewis, who grew up in Berry Hill, says she arranged the event for what she anticipated to be a 'cool' Friday evening at Berry Hill Social Club.
"But we had a heatwave, which meant we needed gallons of water to keep going for the full two hours.
"It was a fabulous night. With the bar open, warm evening air and infectious music it really did feel we were in Latin America.
"I just want to say a big well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to everyone who sponsored us."
Taking part were Nicola Powells, Margaret Bodner, Toni Creed, Kelly Cotton, Karen Merchant, Tasha Hanson, Lisa Reeves, Claire Rees, Nicola Powles, Jo Morse, Jan Peachey, Sally Screen, Rosie Screen, Vikki Worgan, Kath Hill, Jeannette Elliot, Emma Head, Ali Williams, Emma Lewis, Katie Hopkins, Jodie Sterry, Sally Aston, Linda Powle, Niffy Jones, Hayley Elsmore, Natalie Nelson and Becky Reville.
